Transforming this sunny mountain residence has been a labor of love. Working around some immutable structural constraints, resolving the layout was an engaging puzzle. The final design opens up a compartmentalized floor plan into two intentional zones: an inviting entry area, and a relaxing family living space open to the kitchen. The threshold between these two zones is defined by a white stone wall with a timber-framed opening centered on the window beyond. We loved designing the custom range hood and the meticulously proportioned fireplace surround.
