The central challenge of this renovation was to reconfigure the stairway for improved circulation, views, and a feeling of openness. By eliminating the original staircase and replacing it with a simple, modern staircase in a new location, we were able to open up the floor plan and create a new dining area. Some of the other highlights of this project in our residential architecture portfolio include expanding the prime closet and landing area above, opening the living area to include a previously isolated family room, and enclosing the rec room with glass doors for noise reduction while preserving daylighting and views.
